How do you turn fibre into yarn, wheat into bread, or fruit into jam? These skills, once fundamental to our survival, are increasingly being lost. Buried under the washing and "to do" lists of time poor parents and lost in the convenience of vast selections of cheap food lining supermarket shelves. By understanding how to make bread we can shift an awfully pervasive paradigm. Bread suddenly becomes more than just peanut butter toast with no crusts. Let our children explore, experiment and innovate. And as an added bonus, we infuse the creativity with the NSW Maths curriculum.
Lets bring the passionate people to the classroom to expose the possibilities. Then take our children out into the real world to witness the passion person in action. Creative people within our community help our children explore their world. They can inspire and potentially activate an interest in a particular idea or subject that may last a life time. Lets set our children free and help them witness true passion, hard work, tough times, easy times, happy times… real life
Let kids be kids. Let parents be parents. Have better control of the early foundations you lay for their lifetime of learning. Its time to focus on your child's strengths and tease out their areas of interest by helping choose what subjects they study. Have more influence over your child's education while keeping their roots firmly grounded in the family substrate. You have created this amazing little person. A parents unique perspective and influence is theirs to gift. Lets put family back at the forefront.
